MINUTES BEFORE MISS WORLD 2008
Similarly to last year, a panel of judges will select ten of their favourite delegates to proceed into the Top 15, and another five delegates will be selected from the Fast Tracks events as follows;
Russia - Ksenia Vladimirovna Sukhinova (21, 178cm) is one of the earliest favourites to grab the coveted Miss World title this year. Pretty as a doll, this lanky beauty has captured the eyes of HOB ever since she was crowned as Miss Russia 2008. In fact, she has already landed herself in a very safe spot by winning the "Top Model" fast track award. Sukhinova also placed third in the "Beach Beauty" fast track competition.
Mexico - Anagabriela Espinoza Marroquín (20, 178cm), was automatically advanced to the Top 15 upon grabbing the "Beach Beauty" fast track competition. Watching Ana sashay-ing down the runway in a hot bikini, it was not a surprised at all that she won this fast track without any competition!
Iceland - Blue eyed beauty, Alexandra Ívarsdóttir (18, 180cm) could never be happier when she won the "Miss Sports" fast track competition where she did not only automatically garnered herself a semi-finals spot but also a new found fame as one of the top favourites to win the MW title. Could it be an Icelandic beauty again who will rule the World (Iceland won MW in 2005)? Only time will tell :p
Barbados - Natalie Olivia Griffith (18, 168cm), a teenage Caribbean beauty belted a number confidently and bagged the "Miss Talent" fast track award. She will join 14 other beauties in the Top 15.
"Beauty with a Pupose" fast track winner to be announced during finals.
HOB has never been busier while trying to figure out who could end up as the Top 15 tonight. Too many possibilities, too many surprises and a whole lot of hard work, finally a Top 15 have been determined;
1. South Africa - The certain Tansey Coetzee (23, 174cm) was one of the Top 20 in MU08. Luck was by her side when Johannesburg, SA, won the bid of presenting the Miss World Pageant 2008. Without further hesitation, HOB is also very certain that this lady will not be missed out from the list. Nevertheless, HOB do not see a very bright chance of her clinching the crown but Tansey is definitely going to be one of the Top 5.
2. Trinidad & Tobago - Beautiful and charming Gabrielle Walcott (24, 170cm) should never be missed out from the Top 15 list. Perhaps T&T could even be placed higher tonight. Lets just hope that MW will not be giving us too much of shocking surprises like MU.
3. Belgium - As sweet as chocolates, Alizée Poulicek (22, 175cm) is another hot contender for the crown. Previously a popular delegate in MU, this sweetie-pie is trying her luck again in the international beauty pageant arena. Will she make it this time? Who doesn't like Belgium chocolates anyway?
4. Brazil - Tamara Almeida Silva (23, 174cm) was named 2nd runner-up in Miss Tourism Queen International 2007. Like Miss Belgium, Tamara is trying her luck again in another international beauty pageant but this time not under Fernando de Noronha but with a Brazil sash. With a look and personality like hers, it will not be a surprise if she walk away with the MW crown tonight.
5. Angola - Brigith dos Santos (18, 180cm)
6. USA - Merica Lane Lindell (18, 177cm)
7. India - Parvathy Omanakuttan Nair (21, 174cm)
8. Thailand - Ummarapas Jullakasian (23, 173cm)
9. Ukraine - Irina Zhuravskaya (18, 177cm)
10. Spain - Patricia Yurena Rodríguez Alonso (18, 179cm)
